Ceremony Info

The ceremony will be held around 12 PM at Bog Springs in Madera Canyon, but we're asking everyone to arrive in the Canyon by 10 AM to ensure enough time to reach the ceremony site. You'll be hiking into Bog Springs!

When you arrive at the Madera Trailhead Picnic Area (it will be marked), you'll need to park there and catch a ride up to Kent Springs Cabin. Some wonderful friends have volunteered to shuttle people up and back, so you can just hang out for a bit if there's no one there when you arrive.

Once you arrive at the cabin, you'll need to find your table; this is also where the reception will be. At your table you'll meet your Trailmaster and Grill Sergeant, both of whom will help make sure everyone gets where they want to be, when they need to be there.

The linked website gives you a description of the entire 5.4 mile hike, but we're only going to hike from the Trailhead to Bog Spring itself. This will be 1.7 miles in, adding to 3.4 miles round-trip.

First leg of the trip.

Second leg of the trip. After this we turn around and go back for steaks and beer!
The wedding party is going to hike back to the ceremony site at 9 AM, get dressed in our formal wear, take pictures of the wedding party, and set up the area so that when our guests begin arriving (that's you!) we'll be ready to begin the ceremony.

A friend of ours is officiating; we think the ceremony will only last about thirty minutes (including a couple of readings from close friends and family) and then our guests will head back to Kent Springs Cabin while the wedding party is photographed with their families.

Since you will be hiking to and from the ceremony location, please feel free to wear casual, comfortable hiking clothes to our wedding. The wedding party itself will be wearing hiking boots with our formal dresses and tuxedos!
